computer help needed

Guys an' gals i need a bit of help. If I buy a computer abroad how do i change the operating system (i think its called that) so it is in English. Is it at all possible. Any responses in non geek talk please!!!

In XP Start > Control Panel > Date, Time, Language and Regional Options > Regional Language Options

Than select English UK.

If it is not installed click Add and then select English UK.

When i tried this on my english computer (turning the french option on) when rebooted, the start up menus and icons hadn't changed from english to french?

I think Lara means the actual language of the OS Jacques.
When I bought a laptop in Montreal I had to tell the assistant I wanted an English not French one.

There are quite a few mentions of this but it all depends on what OS your using by the look of it
