Time for a Holiday

Post by Deuce Bigolo »

All year this weekend(the grand final of our Aussie Rules )was going to be a
non stop piss-up/pig out from saturday Morning 7.30am to at least Monday morning 7.30am but alas my team of soft cock sissies has had the temerity to choke at the last hurdle after finishing TOP after the minor round

Being the sore loser that I am I'm heading to somewhere beyond the black stump where TV reception is worse than a celebrity shag video & phones of all types don't exist or can't get a signal & the internet is as yet a distant thought

I'll have to make mental note to close my eyes when passing any general stores as those pesky newspaper headlines will no doubt be telling me who won

So heres to sittng around the camp fire drinking copious amounts of piss, eating all & sundry(roasted marsh mallows, damper, shrimp, yabbies) & dribbling bollocks to the cows come home or the sun comes up Monday Morning

Be seeing ya or reading ya as soon as my EXTREME HOT FLUSH has resolved itself ;-)

cheers

The weather forecast is Ace

Low/Mid 20s with a bit of rain

Compared to February last year when it was 46/47/48 centigrade for the stay is a god send.

Never seen bottles of red wine popping their corks as if to say

"PUT THT BEER DOWN AND DRINK ME YOU HEATHEN" ;-)

I can understand why that Aussie Rules you play and watch has driven you mad Buttsie as I went to a game years ago at Waverley (I think thats what it's called) and it could have made me crazy.

I didn't have the first clue what was going on and it looked like organise chaos to this untrained and unitiated bloke.

For mine Sport its best seen on a decent sized TV screen with multiple views otherwise your not getting the full picture of whats happening

Waverley was the name of the ground(now Mothballed).Absolute shithole when it rained but compared to the new state of the art stadium(The Docklands) it was a great venue.A foot of turf & grass on a concrete base isn't going to do any players any favours and the fact that the experts built it the wrong way(north/south instead of east/west)means the grass doens't grow properly-INCOMPETENT EXPERT WANKERS

Seem to be a few of these Expert Builders around
Take the new coaches box built for the Geelong Club
It gets the full afternoon sun which means nobody can see out.
Champagne Comedy come on down
You couldn't write a comedy sketch that good

I understand all the rules perfectly even though the wankers in charge the same rules every year to try and curb cheating

All Ball Games take time to learn their rules but the aim of the game is always the same

Get the Ball in the(insert appropriate word)

For evey rule they bring in there will always be players that cheat or are so good their untouchable and thats what rules are designed to curb but they never will so you've got to ask why do they bother

A problem with the Millenium stadium in Cardiff.
Only part of the turf ever gets any sun....but luckily its all based on pallets so it can be moved around.

I didn't know it had been mothballed. It was out in the east towards the Dandenongs if I remember rightly.

It also rained when I was there which is a problem as it rains alot in Melbourne. Essendon versus Fitzroy was the game if my old alcohol sozzled brain isn't letting me down once more.

So I take it that you are not a fan of this new retractable roof stadium, Colonial Stadium or whatever it's called?

And if you think the turfs bad there then look at the NFL. Those astro turfed fields literally have the plastic rolled out over concrete. If you are really lucky then you might get some coconut matting in between.

It does seem that thanfully some of the newer artificial surfaces in the NFL are getting much better though.

Yes Waverley was out in the Eastern Suburbs and where the last great team Hawthorn(7 grand final appearances in a row(1983-1989) played its home matches

My main gripe with the Docklands/Colonial Stadium is that the stadium was built for the Corporates & not the grass roots supporter.50 percent of the stadium is all Corporate Boxes.Thats a joke all by itself without mentioning the turf

To me its just a sign of how Aussie Rules has turned from being a Sport that united the local community to a Corporate Money Making Venture where the nouveau rich go to be seen or talk business and could care less about whats in view out on the field

Take the latest war in the courts thats just started

Kerry Stokes who owns channel 7 is sueing everybody else for AUS1 Billion because he lost out on getting the TV right to Aussie Rules & Rugby league
which resulted in his Pay TV channel going broke

All about money and some people just don't have enough even when they've got too much,I PITY THEM
