They are so appalling it is almost laughable- publishing such a story under the circumstances would be repugnant- I wish Have I Got News For You would get back on our screens pronto, as that seems to be the most public way of humiliating their 'journalism' and 'values'.

Likewise, I hope that what you have heard is not true.

I has been common knowledge for about a year that his son was being
considered for arrest in child pornography charges. He had downloaded
images to his computer

Before he could be arrested he skipped the country and has not been seen
since.

He may be alive, he may be dead, but story is that his family have not seen
him for over a year.

Ronnie was a very family oriented man, and loved his wife and kids. He was
also a very shy and personal man and I think that the problem with his son
affected him greatly.

Rather crass of the Mail to bring it up now, and I have to say for a change
that the Sun have a wonderful front page..just a pair of black glasses, with
a spotlight on them, and the headline Goodnight from him. Well done the
Sun.

Typical that some journalists, in the middle of most folk celebrating the man's life and work, decide to try and sour it all with that story.
I hope most people are not bothered that his son looked at a few distasteful pictures, it's Ronnie Barker we're celebrating and no-one seems to a bad word to say about him, and quite rightly so.

I'm surprised by The Mail's decision. The passing of such a God of a bloke as Ronnie B deserves massive respect. Mind you did the leftie arsewipes have a pop at him for those old sketches where he used to "Black Up" in the halcyon days before the thought police took over?

I recall Not The Nine O'Clock News doing a Two Ronnies skit which went down like a lead balloon. Yes, in the early 1980s the stuff he was doing seemed rather safe and sedate compared with the anarchic Comic Strip and Ben Elton types, but Mr Barker was a brilliant performer and a very clever man. As others have pointed out, his comic timing was second to none.
