Wonderful. Have not seen that scene for a while.

In my humble opinion, and as someone who has watched plenty
of comedy of the last 40 years, Father Ted is one of THE great
UK situation comedies.

I am somewhat anti organized-religion so I love the whole irreverant
attitude the program has to religion, plus of course great performances
from the 4 main house members, plus loads of "guests" who appear in
just one or two shows.

Difficult to pick a favorite episode but when they enter the Eurovision
song contest is excellent, My Little Horse.....Just play the f...ing note.

So sad 'father ted' died when he did.

Fantastic seeing that scene from a truly legendary comedy series.
So many highlights - the 'Hitler Moustache' moment from the brilliantly-titled episode ''Are You Right There, Father Ted?'' springs to mind straight away as well as the piss-take on that certain Co Donegal crooner who appeals to women of a certain age with the character Eion McLove.
I also particularly enjoyed the scenes with the bickering husband and wife who always threatened to kill each other before being interupted by a visit from one of the priests.
Sheer genius comedy.
R.I.P., Dermot.

Brilliant brilliant clip! really cheered me up after a hard nite at the theatre. Great performances from the cast. A series sadly missed. The car raffle was a good one

Some poor sod reading this thread is going to end up dreaming of Mrs Doyle naked in front of him, warts and moustache and all, saying "Go on, go on, go on, go on . . ."

Fecking brilliant...

Dougal: Look, this tables so dirty I can write my name in it.

Ted: There's a 'G' in Dougal.

Dougal: Where?......................................

Dougal: Ted can I stay up tomorrow night to watch the scary film?

Ted: oh no no no no the last time you watched a scary film you had to sleep

in my bed, I wouldn't mind it wasn't even that scary a film.

Dougal: ah come on now ted, a volkswagon with a mind of its own, driving

all over the place and going mad, if that's not scary i don't know what is...........................................................

Ted: Dougal, how did you get into the church in the first place? Was it,

like, 'collect 12 crisp packets and become a priest?'

...............................................great stuff

Best Mrs Doyle scene: when she was asking Ted if he had read any of Polly Clarke's books (the woman Ted thought he was in there with).

It lasted about 5 minutes, with Mrs Doyle reeling off every sweary word and euphemism in the book!

It was the way she delivered 'em....
