You are a brave man for saying that. Running a big risk of mega-flaming from some of the more extreme types on here.

Nice to see some other chaps digging Aerial, I'm sure this one will keep us busy for months. I've always found it pretty easy to decipher Kate Bush's songs, for example Wuthering Heights is about the Bronte novel, Army Dreamers is about Gareth Keenan types, There Goes A tenner is about a bank robbery and The Man With The Child In His Eyes is about Michael Jackson....easy!

Music itself isn't superficial but there is a lot of Superficial/Manufactured music around

You only need look at the indigenous peoples of the world to see how important Music is.I wonder how we would amuse ourselves if the electricity were to be turned off tomorrow?

I just listened to a review of the album and 1 thing struck me besides the 'those songs are weird aspect'

12 years between releases means she's the one in control

In this age of manufactured dross its got to be appealing to listen to something that hasn't been influenced by the bean counters

What artist wouldn't kill to have the final say

Just sad that artists live or die by wether their Singles are Hits or Not

Thats the real reason why music is superficial IMHO and the fact that
music is basically only there to fill in the the time between radio commercials
That started way back in the mid 70s

cheers

Just thought I'd annoy everyone by hijacking this thread with my latest purchase of Stevie Wonders album...and what a nice album it is too.

Mad respect for Kate Bush though, havent bought the album yet but she has always impressed me since I bought The Kick Inside many moons ago and some of her albums since....I've always liked her quirky nature.

As for her album being good now...I would expect no less given her previous efforts.

Her best work yet?

Post by Rude Boy »

Having played the discs many times over the last few days I'm seriously thinking that this may be her best work yet, certainly disc 2 is a towering achievement, it is extremely beautiful. I never thought she could release anything that surpassed either The Dreaming or Hounds Of Love but now I'm not so sure. Whatever the case it is just so cool to have her back.

Ive heard the Kate Bush Album, to be honest i wasnt that impressed. I thought at best there were 2 good tracks on there one called Bertie and the other being a coral room. I dont think kate can ever beat hounds of love, i love kate Bush like the next person, but in my eyes it failed to deliver. Sorry folks.
