As most people know I am completely useless with this computer thing and need some advice.
On my windows media player I've noticed a list of 'subjects' I'd prefer not to have visable if you know what I mean lol.
Pass history of movies, on the drop down file menu.
Thing is when I click on them they arent there so I no I've deleted them BUT how do I delete them off this list?
Any advice from you wonderful folks will be appreciated.

Windows Media Player History
Re: Windows Media Player History
Install something like CCleaner ... it'll do the job for you

Unfortunately when I follow the instructions in the guide what it says should come up doesn't.
Tools options should bring a privacy tab but privacy isn't one of my options.
Anymore advice would be appreciated.

Unfortunately Ive got McAfee so will no doubt have the problems it says I'll have on the site (plus I aint that keen on paying for it and going through other download processes)
If anyone knows an easier way it would be appreciated.

Re: Windows Media Player History
Depends what version of Media Player you have. I have version 10.
Select "Help" and "About Windows Media player" to see what you have.
If I select my menu bar I get options File, View, Play, Tools and Help.
If I select Tools I get an menu option called "Options".
When I select Options I get a window called Options with 11 "tabs" (Player,
Rip Music, Devices, Performance and so on).
I select the one called Privacy.
There is a button called Clear History. Press it.
Here is a picture of the "Options" window
(you need the Privacy tab)

Re: Windows Media Player History
Thinks Guilbert
Mine is just media player for windows XP.
I've done the tools options thing like both yourself and Jacques suggested but Privacy isn't one of the tabs I am given to click (and then change)
There are lots of tabs but Privacy just isn't one of them (typical lol)
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Re: Windows Media Player History
stop watching porn on your computer, you did ask for the easiest solution
This should lead you to your missing privacy
Personally I'd be using a web eraser like ccleaner which is FREEWARE(No cost) or any of the others that erase the traces from all over your computer
I'm sure one if not all will work without conflicting with mcafee
Most are small enough to be downloaded in minutes even on dial-up
cheers

Re: Windows Media Player History
Thanks for the advice chaps.
I ended up installing a new version of the player (10) and was then able to use the privacy tabs.
Cheers anyway
