I'm sure some of you are aware of this annoying sales phenomena. I'm sure this way of selling should be outlawed like pyramid selling.

To make matters worse, they are so rude when you are not interested.

I mean, I'm on my way out of the door and someone calls up to offer your flat in the next magazine as a photo layout...I mean really?!?

Could yo imagine the shit we'd get if we as an industry set up something like this:

Hello can I speak to the owner of the house?...We're a company selling hard core porn films and we think you should be interested in Dirty Dung Pipe Whores#4...This comes with a special 2 for 1 offer with Hot Man Fat Suckers#2...Oh I'm sorry you have to be over 18 to take advantage of this offer...Oh you are 18?! ..Oh thats ok then... I'll take your credit card number...

I've kinda grown to like em actually Tel. I let them go on and on about there product and then take enormous delight in saying na, no chance matey, not a fucking hope in hell !!! They are usually dumbfounded. It's quite entertaining really !

TPS does work wonders ... it stopped all calls ro me wxcept the computer generated ones that play a recorded message "Congratulations, you've won a cruise ... press #9 now ...", they originate from outside the UK and can't be stopped as their sodtware just dials a range of numbers.

The other TPS I watch is French TPS (t?l?vision par satellite) because they have all the movies on months before Sky and they don't censor them or impose stupid watershed restrictions ... and they have xxx porn as well.

Don't forget to register your mobile and VoIP numbers too.

However one thing you can do if you get one is not to hang up. If you hang up they don't get marked down but if they hang up, they have to explain why. So simply leave them on the other end of the phone and go and make a cup of tea. You could ask them if they'd like a cup and let them hear you make it, put on some porn and 'fwap' away....they can't hang up!!!

My experiences with these nuisance calls is that if you tell a little white lie like "No I'm not him/her" the call nearly always ends instantly

If they ask to call back tell them so & so has just migrated overseas etc

Its a very easy & adaptable method in most situations i've found

If you truly don't want any interruptions,get an answering machine and leave it on 24/7 ESPECIALLY WHEN YOUR HOME

Something I learned from my mate who works as a call center manager the bastard. Confirm your name and when they go in to super sales mode ask them if its a wind up and when they say no explain how this is a research number for watchdog complaints and then ask if they was aware that cold calling is against their agreed buinsess practise and could they kindly repeat the name of their company. You might get bored with the phone never ringing again unless its your mum
