Many years ago I was a law school drop out and I seem to recall, (I must have been inadvertently awake during a lecture) that when given a life sentence for murder, even if you are released early you are on parole for life, thats why they call it "life".
Was I dreaming? or is this correct.
In any event I believe that if the death sentence had been in place for the last 30 years, there would be now alot of innocent dead people!

It isn't a case of realistic or negative, just because Nachovx isn't singing from the same hymn sheet as everyone else doesn't mean he is wrong.
And in this case I agree with him, if an individual is evil enough to pursue someone -ANYONE- and murder them in cold blood it should bear no difference to the sentencing whether they are doing it because they are black or because they were glasses or a duffel coat, unreasonable hatred and bullying should be treated the same.
The sentence they got was right and fair, but it should also be given to anyone guilty of committing the same crime - regardless of whether the skin colour of the victim is the issue or not.
And, think about this... they are repulsive and despised individuals now and quite rightly so. Do you really think they will spend time in prison without meeting a few violent black inmates eager to plant half a pool queue in their heads?

Paul`s murderer got a 14 year tariff today.His accomplices got less than 3 years apiece .Am I the only one who gives a stuff about this vile crime and the pitiful sentences? I guess it isnt good copy.

All they want is an immediate deterrent effect and publicity to show the law is working. And you don't believe there is a strong element of truth there?
When a case such as this is adopted by the media and becomes headline news (and not all such murders become national news, and I'm counting some cases of unbelievably sickening violence) the sentence passed becomes the next days headlines and the judge becomes "obliged" to pass a sentence that will "set an example"
In actuality, racist attacks are becoming fewer and fewer in the UK, certainly amongst the "white trash" as (quite rightly) it is deemed totally unacceptable. So unacceptable that, as I stated above, I have my doubts whether Taylor or Barton will get through their sentences without at least serious retribution from other inmates.

You are correct. Technically anybody given a life sentence even on their release will be under "licence" for the rest of their life which means if they reoffend in any way then they are in big trouble.
We had an example of this round our way when a paedophile was given a life sentence only for the Judge to say that he should serve a minimum of 4 years which caused outrage as people were saying a life sentence means only 4 years blah blah blah...........................
The Judge explained the reason that he gave the paedo life was so that he'd be under licence for the rest of his miserable existence hence if he reoffended again then life would have meant life that time.
Or so I take it.

It may happen but I doubt it. I suppose it depends on what prisons they get sent too as they will obviously be split up.
Sure there are groups, sects and the like in prison and the asians, blacks, eastern european all have there own but there will also be the local boys and alot of these are racist, very racist.
Usually these groups leave each other alone as it goes tit for tat. If you beat up one of there's then they have to get you back etc etc hence why they usually leave each other.
This why paedos, rapists, child killers get picked upon big time because if any tough guy comes in to aprison and wants to mark his territory then he has to be careful who he gives a kicking too.
If he picks on somebody who's connected or attached to one of the groups then retribution will almost certainly come his way but if he picks on a paedo, rapist etc then not only will he get his message across, many will think that he's a stand up guy for kicking the shit of the arsehole and that he's done the place a big favour in doing so.
Hence he wins on both accounts.
