Danny Williams v Audley Harrison
9 rounds were a real drag, and apart from some bombs thrown, it didn't live up to the hype
Still, I've always liked Danny, so I'm glad he won

Re: Yawn
Seen one you've seen them all
Maybe if the port were about the Prestige of holding & then having to constantly retain the title and not about the prize money things like classic rivalries which interest the public would exist
When was the last time we saw 3/4 matches between 2 fighters which you would have called a rivalry?
cheers

Looking how fat Naseem Hamed was prior to the fight, I reckon he wouldv'e done a better job in that division these days.
The Heavyweight scene at the moment is piss poor with Rachman (Who once KO'd Lennox), Chris Byrd and John Ruiz the holders of various belts. You could see why Frank Bruno wanted to return to boxing, he'd have sparked them out as well last night, and I'm willing to bet that Tyson will be the heavyweight champ again within a year, he'll be back...............mark my words

There was an article on ESPN's website recently about how and why the heavyweight division is in such a state.
Basically it said that there was a lack of american guys in the division and that most big, strong and athletic yanks were trying there hand at basketball or american football as there's big bucks in that and they don't have yto take any punches doing it. The colleges are actively recruiting these type of blokes as well.

Well the Erik Morales and Marco Antonio Barrera was a great trilogy of fights and is recent in that they took place in the last few years.
There first fight is one of the greatest fights ever as they stood toe to toe for the entire 12 rounds.

Dreadful, dreadful, dreadful !sick!; there was more action in 5 minutes of Khan's fight than in 36 of their 'bout'. It was a bout of riga mortis that they both had. Lumbering, inelegant.....buffoons!
Audley looks incapable of delivering a KO punch and, in terms of physique, looks to be more of an athlete than an all-out boxer- additionally, he doesn't seem to have the temperament of a natural boxer with no aggression and a demeanour that is just too 'nice'. !confused!
Not a good advert for British heavyweights, no wonder that gangster Warren was going nuts ringside. But then, the heavyweight division is a joke- James Toney should step up and annihilate everybody, easy pickings.

Re: Yawn
Yeah, only Warren showed real aggression, the commentator mentioned Warren was ''urging Williams forward'', but from where I was, he was screaming at both of them to fight. Such was the farce he had promoted and the likleyhood ITV would drop Warrens fights in future.
Warren is as crooked as Don King, but I actually like Don 'the con' King.........although I'd never sign to him if I boxed. He will rip you off, BUT he does get you fights all said and done
