?for the 35 year old blind man who is today lying criticaly ill in a Hull Burns Unit bed.

A couple of days ago everything was fine (apart from his blindness). He was at home looking forward to Christmas with his elderly parents, who looked after him. They had no doubt bought each other presents and placed them under a Christmas tree in the living room. They had probably discussed what kind of things they would be having for Christmas dinner (there may well be a turkey waiting for them at the butchers). They were probably looking forward to visits from friends and relations ? wandering down memory lane with a glass of sherry and then looking forward to the future.

But tonight all those dreams have turned to ashes as the blind man lies horribly burned in a hospital bed, his home gutted by fire and his elderly mum and dad dead. A tragedy. But accidents happen all the time you might say. Only this was no accident. The fire was deliberately started in their wheelie bin in the back yard, while they were asleep in bed. It took hold of their kitchen and quickly spread to the rest of the house. The elderly couple were trapped in their bedroom and burned. The Fire Brigade pulled their son from the front bedroom alive, but in a very sorry state.

It seems they were not the only ones to have their wheelie bin set alight last night. A number of other families on the estate were similarly affected and three local youths, of a chavy baseball cap wearing persuasion, are now in custody helping police with their enquires. Seems they were just having a laugh, setting fire to their neighbour?s wheelie bins. It?s a common thing on council estates now ? empty houses, garden sheds, rabbit hutches, hedges, bins and even newish cars! All being set alight, week in, week out, on most every council estate in the land - by brainless, lowlife, chav cunts.

When I was a lad we would never even dream of such a thing (setting fire to some else?s property) it was just beyond the pale to us. We thought we were master criminals if we had a campfire in the woods! But 30 of years of indulgence by divi middleclass socialist wankers (you know, ?empowering the disadvantaged? and all that bollocks) has led to today?s youth having little comprehension of right and wrong. This is because there are now no consequences to behaving in a moronic, antisocial, chavy manner ? except maybe a few middleclass platitudes and a dose of psychobabble. Apparently, we must respect everyone, we must not be ?prejudiced? even against the useless, brainless, malevolent, scum of our society. Problem is that if we respect them they then feel empowered to simply go on being brainless, malevolent, scumbags. As in this case, I guess.

I?m sorry to have to lay this on you at what should be a happy time. But Christmas is never a happy time for all and I thought that if we could all take on board what has happened here, cast our apathy aside for once, and just help shoulder a small fraction of the blind man?s pain, grief, and uncertain future, it would temper our Xmas spirit, temper the happiness and fun most of us will have with our friends and family, and make us appreciate and value it all just that little bit more.

It seems to be a common pastime up here for inebriated idiots of a young age, or the bored and stupid, to pile rubbish in the common closes of tenements and set fire to it. That no one has been killed or seriously injured so far is a miracle---but the luck will eventually run out.

All of you stay safe, eh? And if you do go out for a skinful, don't leave the brain behind and try anything criminally stupid to "impress" the lads. And that includes drink-driving.

Adelaide fire fighters are frustrated and angry over the latest spate of brush fence fires which tied up five trucks for almost an hour this morning.

The deliberately lit fires were set in the North Plympton area at about 5am.

The first fence was set alight in Mooringe Avenue and soon others were reported burning in nearby Speed Avenue, McCarthur Avenue, McKewon Avenue and Henry Street.

Richard Gray from the Metropolitan Fire Service says all the outbreaks were quickly extinguished but warns vandals are playing with fire.

"These brush fence fires will one day cause a fatality. I went to one recently in the city where it burned into the front of a home destroying two rooms," he said.

"One of these rooms was a bedroom, fortunately nobody was home at the time."

Police patrols are still searching for those responsible.

Arson used to be considered a serious crime, sadly these days it no longer is anyone convicted of arson should be sentenced to a long stretch even if its there first conviction and their age should not be taken into account because kids know they can get away with criminal offences because of their age, the law needs changing.

I live in the outskirts of Hull, and it is a place sadly chock full of chavscum. A mismanaged shithole it definitely is, full of empty council houses (some built less than 25 years ago) all being demolished willy-nilly.
The 2 main MP's for Hull are Johnny Two-Jags and that arsehole-crawling cockney Blairite wanna-be Alan Johnson (who I have met, and an more oily jumped-up used-car salesman you would not wish to meet), so perhaps the media should spotlight the many problems the city has and get those 2 wankers focused on their jobs as MP's.

Wherever it happened, it's a disgusting crime. Three lives taken because of some fuckwits who think setting fire to stuff is funny. There are times when I think we'd do well to add soem chlorine to our gene pool.
