Let's keep this real guys! If only the deserving got these awards then the only people who got them would be nurses, doctors, aid workers, samaritans etc.... but lets be honest, fill a newspaper with these people and you'd be lucky to hit double figures.

Tom Jones doesn't "deserve" the award any more than the dinner lady from Bradford who got one, but that's not the point! It's about which ever fuck-ups are in power at the moment and what suits their image and cred.

So imbrace it as a great British tradition that means nothing and proves fuck all and you will have peace in your soul!!
