Yep, Budapest is a great city...
I've always meant to go back some time...
Prague too....
The happiest days of my life by far were spent in Australia. For me, it is the best place on Earth. I may go back there for good one day.
Britain ain't so bad.
Pros - the football, the british sense of humour, the birds, the beer, the TV...
Cons - the weather obviously, the british tendency to whinge, the public transport, the expensive cost of living, crap wages - long hours, Jamie Oliver.....

"But don't you find that their personalities all seem to gel into the same? Aren't they all obsessed with getting out of their own country? Are they as sexually repressed as us? Tell us about their social lives etc."
Most seem pretty content with their lot and don't seem too fussed about moving from what I can make out and those I've met/know have a nice mix of personalities. I can't really help with how their social lives operate, pretty normal I suppose but without the vast importance of chav-culture we have here such as what's happening in X Factor, Big Brother and all that crap. They have all that on the tv but it's mere froth.
Cutting to the chase...have a look at www.clubsandy.com to see the cream of the Hungarian (And Czech) babes up to all sorts. Also (Gratuitous plug) check out my "Rude Boy" sets in "Club" and "Mayfair" featuring outrageously hot Hungarian models. When you've done that book a seat on the next flight!
The other place that always makes me think, "I wish I was there" when I'm having a less than perfect day is Montana, USA. I can do the "Montana Dream Sequence" as well if you really want!

Yes Burt, bigger companies take longer to react to trends. They have economies of scale and networks of customers (distributors and retailers) who will continue to take new stock, even when sales are slow, in the vain hope the latest releases will have punters chomping at the bit and get them out of the financial hole they might be getting themselves into. With little outfits and one-man bands it can be much more immediate - if they don't sell enough merchandise that week, they don't eat. But however bad it gets, the business won?t go away, there will always be some trade, for someone. You just got to ask yourself - is it financially worth my while? Do I really want to be involved with this now that all the glamour and glory has gone? Isn?t it now all just too tacky, tawdry and banal? Could my time be spent much more wisely elsewhere, on some other business endeavour?
And hey, what about the bit where they announced a new gonzo line (que fanfare) ? Ta Da!? HA! That?s just what the British market needs, isn?t it? That?s just what?s missing from the shelves. Jeez, I could just kick myself. Why didn't we think of that before, eh? Well, I never. Gonzo, eh? That?ll pull the job from the fire ?n? no mistake. Yes, that?ll have ?em queuing by the door. Hmm, mmm?

Re: Box Office Blues
very nice, intelligent posts here...Particulaly enjoed Rude Boys comments about Budapest...I can only apply these thoughts to Prague since I traverse there from time to time.
Back to the poor box office receipts....I have to disagree with you there Officer...Hollywood has been churning out the same ratio of pap to quality flicks year in year out for some time now and personally I find some of those movies enjoyable enough to sit through for entertainment over brain food.
I think the real problem is the people I see on the street selling pirates on dvd....No matter where I go I seem to see oriental man and women selling and people buying off them for a ridiculously cheap 5 pounds a pop...I mean thats dirt cheap compared to porn and these people are shifting high volumes of the stuff...That must have a knock on effect with the main stream movies

Re: Box Office Blues
Happy to oblige and do my bit to promote tourism in BP! Let's have the OEJ guide to Prague then!
I'll start you off. "Prague, the beautiful capital of the Czech Republic, truly one of Europe's crown jewels. A baroque gem of a city with a wealth of gothic architecture, no visit to this magical city is complete without a trip to the Saint Silvia Cathedral where one can worship at the Shrine to Anetta Keys and marvel at the Adriana Malkova frescoes."
I really should be working but fantasy island is a far more fun place to be!

Re: Box Office Blues
well the big boys can shoot as much as they want but at the end of the day stock on shelves is good for only fools and arses! its a shame really cos i quite like some of relish's stuff and in the past ive done buisness with will so i know they are a cool bunch but what makes them cool is they dont shoot gonzo which we should now really call britt porn. their relish look and feel does give hope that perhaps in future they may recruit a wanabe pornberg and kick out some high end product but with their entry in to gonzo perhaps not
malc
btw all those who now enjoy read posts for spelling/gramar errors will note i just cant be arsed FULL STOP

Re: Box Office Blues
Damn Rude boy you are soo suave...I couldnt be as classy as you...I just went there for the pussy! LOL!
Seriously though I did get to sample a bit of life out there and have to admit its quite a cool place but I wouldnt want to live there...For work though, i have to admit its a great place to be but model costs are not as cheap as people think...But excellent value for what you do get. I for one am always pleased when i go out there...Its not without its occasional problems but so far every problem has been remedied very quickly and professionally...The food though (depending on where you go) was shockingly cheap and then surprisingly expensive when you go to the town square brasserie...

Re: Box Office Blues
As that report confirms, it's been a weak year, though it really should've mentioned that it only takes a handful of films to underperform home and abroad to wipe hundreds of millions off the figures, which has largely been the case of recent. There's a multitude of reasons for this, and though a better quality mainstream product wouldn't be a certainty in reversing the downward trend, it would be a good start, and most welcome.
btw - do remember that if you want films so bad they went straight to DVD, Blockbuster, rather than an actual cinema, would be your best bet.
