Darts

Why is it given blanket coverage on TV?

It's a fucking pub game NOT a sport.

OK - blanket coverage for 10 days of a pub game.

Hallelujah, Brother Jacques! I was beginning to think I was the only person who thought it was a pile of shit-stained pants.

The worst of it is that you can't compete unless you have an utterly crap nickname.

Oh, and a tactical nuclear strike on the venue would eradicate 70% of the UK's supply of junk jewellery----but there could be dire consequences if the fake tan sprays used by some of the brassy "blondes" in the audience were irradiated and mutated.

Jesus fuck stop moaning guys (he says in the middle of a tv rant), is it any worse than:

Celeb Big Brother, Soapstar Superstar, D List Celebs skating on thin ice, East (slash my wrist) Enders, Quiz fucking Mania (can't even watch that shit when I am pissed unless that bird with orange skin and big bacardi breezers is on!!) etc. etc. etc.

Yeah darts is a pile of piss but in the grand scheme of TV it aint even on the shichter scale.

Anyways I am off down my local to see if I can hit a fucking bullseye ... you can't beat a bit of bully .... fuck sorry for that.

Double top.

Oh come on. Once you take on board its inherent absurdity (which the sport itself is more than aware of), darts is a pretty skillful game that produces some suprisingly rivetting matches, and is certainly better television than the tiresome, grossly overrated golf, to name but one.

The problem darts has is that it is largely a working man's sport, and thus there is a danger of gentrification via its increasing profile with the public and sponsors (they gentrified snooker and pretty much drained the life from it once its 80's heyday was over). Enjoy it before they spoil it.

Yeah agreed the Last Word, but "a working mans sport" and BBC especially BBC2 don't exactly go hand in hand, I reckon at least BBC1 and BBC2 should at least get some gratification for keeping the seemingly unstoppable push towards b list celebs getting another shot in the limelight.

Surely these sad cunts have had their shot at fame and moved on .... why does ITV and Channel 4 to a lesser extent have to push these soapstars and the like in our face anymore that need be??

The answer is ratings of course Channel 4 had 7.5 million for the 1st episode of celeb big brother, yet a quality drama like lost had 4.5 million .... you do the sums!!!
