1. About ten years ago I met a colleague in Hungary. I knew his holidays coincided with mine, but I did not know he was going to Hungary too.
2. Last year I sold a stapler through eBay. The buyer's name looked familiar. He turned out to be an old friend whom I had lost sight with long ago.

Sounds quite similar to a drama I saw on telly years ago. I think it was called 'Good and Bad At Games'.
Plot: boy is hideously bullied at public school, years later there's an old-boys cricket match and he turns up to even the score.
