Remember Hot Gossip (bring them back I say,& blow PC),anyone good on tunes here...looking for "Hot for Dogs" and another, which I believe was called "Dark is the Night"...do you know who recorded them?
Just dug out a compilation tape of Mike Mansfield's excellent weekly Ch.4 show "HOT FOR DOGS" I recorded all those years ago,Circa 1981.
...and as for the girl dancers, bags of inside thigh, stockings, knickers, bending over with camera tight in..just perfect entertainment.Where did it all go wrong...when girls started wearing trousers I presume, and the PC crowd started to shout STOP this 'filth'.
Memories,memories!.

Well I've drawn a blank on 'Hot for Dogs' (are you sure that was the title?) but Shakatak - an eighties name if ever there was one - had a minor hit with 'Dark is the Night' back in 1983, though I think that might be little too late for Hot Gossip according to my wobbly timeline. Sorry I can't help you further.

Wasn't Sarah Brightman in Hot Gossip?

Thanks 'Last Word'...these were only backing tracks to the boys & girls dancing:Yes,it was Hot for Dogs, the name of the programme:But Dark is the Night (Lovely melody,& snappy tune) might be on the right track:I'll make a note:
Sarah was before this series was made. She never appeared on this TV show.By that time, she had moved on....
Somewhere in the vaults of time (Ch.4) these shows must be laying dormant:would upset the PC mob but seen far worse on MTV.
Would make excellent viewing for childrens programmes because of the lush sets and fab costumes, perhaps a little dated now,but the idea was tip-top and either this series repeated,or something done on these lines again.
But perhaps the music of that day suited dancing, who knows!.
...oh,and BARE legs of TV is a rare sight.

I was flicking through the music channels on Sky & happened across Sarah Brightman on ClassicFM TV or what ever it's called.... she looked rather sexy in a metal looking bikini - a la Princess Leia !grin! Not bad considering....

That should read...circa 1983 for the weekly Hot for Dogs shows..
Before that in 1982 they done the 'Very' Hot Gossip Show for Ch.4,at the same time released a video.
The camera angles for the 1982 programme would have the PC mob in a right tizzy if seen or produced today..
Hot for Dogs was colourful, sexy, and suited an early evening spot-if you didn't mind looking at plenty of tight hot pants, bare legs, and raunchy routines....and that was just the lads, incidentally, all coloured, stripped to the waist. The girls wore the barest of cloth, remember over 20-years ago.
Kenny Everett must have been the envy of every male at the time when they appeared on his shows.
...now where are the scissors,we must NOT have this 'filth' upsetting the nation and making husbands miss the football score.Wives with rolling pins come to mind.
It was a different age.
