DVD protection freezes PC - advice

I've now got about 4 DVD's that play fine on a player and can be copied to VHS without any problem.
However as soon as I insert them into any of 3 PC's they freeze it and only option is to press the reset button.
AnyDVD, DVD Decrypter & DVD Fab Decrypter have no effect.

The real puzzle is these DVD's are not major professional commercial releases but from DVD recorders - unless the protection has been added subeequently.

So what is causing the PC to freeze and is there a work-around?

Found someone with CloneDVD2 on their PC.
Afraid to say these four discs freeze his PC just the same.

All my others discs be they commerical, DVD-R or DVD+R are fine.

Hence any more ideas forumites?

I have 2 "commercial" DVDs that were perfectly OK for a long time, now they freeze my laptop if I try to play them in the integral player or the external burner. I've tried various sorts of software with them but nothing works.
