The problem with Wikipedia ia that anyone can edit a page - it's why you are not allowed to reference it at university and such like.

I actually think that Seymour Butts being killed in a car accident would warrant a bigger reference on the net than that.......

Yes, there was an article about this in The Times the other day. Apparently, Wikipedia have an army of volunteers who are constantly battling to correct malign entries that have been made by malicious idiots.

Maybe we are not looking at porn from a position of neutral objectivity? Maybe we tend assign porn a greater cultural importance and significance than it actually has? Who would know who Seymour Butts was except for some porno geeks, like us? Who in the real world would care?

Apart from being one of the big draw, name brand directors in the US, Adam/Seymour was also the focus of that documentary series 'Porn: A Family Business', which went out on HBO in the States and Channel 4 over here, so he's not exactly unknown to the general populace.

If anything, he's one of the few legitimate household names...but I guss that depends on whose household we're talking about?

All the same I think the Wikipedia entry is bullshit, there's nothing else out there on the net about him dying in a car crash.

I guess the sites been changed now because it doesnt mention death on it when I just checked it. I certainly hope not anyway cos i have nothing bad to say about adam or seymour from what ive seeen on Porn:family business....(yes even tho its clearly well orchestrated its still based on reality). Also i cant find nething on it either online and wikipedia is always gonna have these problems.

Oh and in terms of being known, most ppl i kno have seen Family Business at some point even people who have no major interest in porn so he would definitely be missed even if not on the 10oclock news hehe
