The lunacy of money

Post by Ned »

Today I got a nice letter from Arsenal inviting me to have a free tour of Highbury with Kenny Sansom as my guide. Lovely. But then you read the rest of the letter and the tour is the preamble to the real business. Selling fucking timeshare properties in Spain! Come and live in Spain and have Jose Antonio Reyes as a neighbour... No ta, he'd spend all his time diving into MY pool ;-)

Arsenal is not the club it used to be...

And then there's the lunacy of having a stadium named after an Arab airline, shirt sponsorship for ten years with the same airline, but having a deal with Israel to promote the country as a tourist area! Something is definitely wrong with THAT picture...

Yeah, but I have to admit, I am a bit jealous of Chelsea, we would all love a big spender to come to our own clubs. I think it has lifted the performance of all clubs in the premiership.
And then there is Wigan. A team that has stuck two fingers up at all the superstars and run their bollocks off every week.
I think we all agree here that the premiership has lost something with the amount of money in the game.

Has anybody actually considered what the ramifications will be to Chelsea when Abramovich gets bored watching his team "strolling" the hardest league in the world every year and packs his bags for pastures new, I mean they aint exactly breaking even as it stands!!

I reckon also that Jose Mourinho will have packed his bags for Spain within 2 years for a new challenge either with Barcelona or Real Madrid.

For Chelsea the grass is greener at the moment but for how long I wonder??

Fuck just realised I posted this in an Arsenal thread sorry seems that Chelsea are flavour of the month!wink!
PEOPLE think Stephen Hawking is so clever, but when you ask him a question and he is typing in the answer on his little screen, how do we know he isn't just looking up the answer on the Internet?
