in any case, the plural of 'knife' is 'knives', not 'knifes'.

Although I share your scepticism about this, Fred, it is dangerous to assume that because something has not been in the press it is untrue. Equally it is dangerous to assume because something has been reported in the press it is true. This is particularly the case when you are reading a paper in the Mail group!

It's bollocks. The police are going in harder these days, not softer. I want just one validated case where a copper allowed anyone to walk away with a knife. Without even one real case, it's bollocks.

The only possible truth to this is that Sikhs may carry ceremonial swords to and from their temple.

Other than that, pure and utter bollocks. Carrying a knife will get anyone nicked and the idea that the police "go easy" on black and Asian kids is also bollocks. Maybe I'll change the subject line to Bollocks... there, done it.

There's some kind of net rule that you don't post rumour and hearsay without a shred of evidence to back it up.

Sorry guys I missed an important point of the post................ the police HAVE been instructed to take the knives of off the offender, BUT NOT to charge them...................sorry for missing that bit out, i had a flight to catch.

BUT this is true, and don't anyone say its not................just how you can say I can't prove it YOU can not prove IT DOES NOT HAPPEN !!!

Don't forget WE LIVE in a country (UK) that is very very soft on crime "life hardly ever means life in the UK "

Speed at 35 and your balls are on the table !

illegal immigrant knocks down and kills young lad...............4 years and the right to appeal to stay in the UK.

A plane "hijacked" and sent to UK......Hijackers all with family on board.....you find out how many returned to their original country.........less than 11 percent. All now live in GB ( Great Benefits)

People on Usenet set some kind of standards - like you don't post a "fact" without a supporting web link. Then people can draw their own conclusions based on whether the claim comes from the BBC or the BNP.
