Re: Gene Pitney RIP
A big loss. It's been all over the news here in Cardiff, where he died in a city hotel.
He played the St. David's Hall last night and apparently put on a great show.

I saw Gene Pitney at The Astoria in Charing cross in about 1989 when he performed a duet of 'something's gotten hold of my heart' with Marc Almond. I'd never heard him sing live before, but he was great. What a voice...and the audience; mainly goths, loved him.

Saw the man at the Finsbury Park Astoria with the Jimi Hendrix Experience as a support act. Jimi set fire to his guitar but Gene was what most of the audience had come to see sad loss.
