Any MAC MINI experts out there?

Post by jimslip »

Been really dumb and bought a Mac Mini a few weeks ago, what a stupid mistake, a pile of junk I think.................

Anyway, the heap of crap has decided to not boot up intermittently, after turning it on and off many times it now comes on but with an announcement on the monitor saying "Non supported mode". I've tried pressing alt, the key next door and p and r as the manual suggests to no avail.

Is the machine buggered?

Try booting it from the system DVD and see if you can re-install the software that way.

If it allows you to, insert the dvd, and restart with the "c" key held down.
We have need of you again, great king.

Thanks, I tried this but the monitor still displays black with the same message: Non supported mode.

New Macs come with 90 days support. Ring the hotline and/or dealer.

I was toying with a Mac Mini myself, but decided to go for a laptop instead.

If you are near a Apple store e.g. Regents Street just turn up with the Mac Mini and see the techie bods in person.

A warning - I think they put a drug in the air con there to make you think everything Apple is cool.

Have you tried the mini with another monitor, the only time I've ever seen a similar message was when the monitor was buggered.
