The lady colecting for Christian aid the other day was not amused when I said Gordon Brown had already given on my behalf.
Personally I am sick of this pressure. If the likes of Beckham can throw parties like todays then they are the ones to do things.
I support Anthony Nolan and British Heart Foundation.

No cheese it's too late thankyou, but the whine will go down nicely thanks....

Not sure if I'd call it the "new" black if I remember Bono, Live Aid etc started 20 years ago.
If your refering to the this weekends ITV thing about the Princes Trust as far as I know that was to celebrate 30 years & the money goes to causes within the UK.
I think giving to charity really depends on the type of person you are more than anything.
If the cause doesn't appeal then don't give, if the cause does appeal then do give, if you can.
With regards to are there to many charities that also depends on the cause Yes there are often far to many for some but then for some there a very few.
With regards to the point about that is what tax is for your probably right but keep in mind that a considerable number of services provided by charity are done so without any government funding.
If the government was to fund hospices etc then your tax would probably have to go up.
My biggest problem with some charities is that they pay people to work for them.
I know they all need some paid staff to run things properly but some of the biggest most well known organisations pay something like ?7.50 a hour just to shake a tin on a street corner.

I don`t mind the charities but I do object to these ads that seem to try to guilt you into giving.randyandy wrote:
