AVC / h.264 encoder

Can anyone recoomend an AVC/h.264 encoder?

Tried the sourceforge (x264) and Mainconcept ones and was not impressed with speed or quality, Nero as I understand it uses it's own flavour so not much point in using it and I fucking hate Quicktime. Just about to give Sorenson a go.

But any other options or opinions?

I can't get full screen on Quicktime. Is there a way?

You need Quicktime Pro to go Full Screen (CTRL+F) otherwise the best you can do is fit to screen (CTRL+3).
