I want to buy a small, light laptop and since I'm a rubbish shopper I'd welcome your recommendations. It needs to be small enough to slip into my bag without adding much weight or using much space - a travel machine.
Doesn't need to be super-powerful but it should have:
- Long battery life
- Wi-fi built in
- Ethernet
- Port for external monitor
- A couple of USB 2.0 ports
Thanks

Check out the new MacBooks running on Intel. Has all you mentioned, comes with integrated webcam etc and lots of bundled software. There are open-source alternatives to Word if you're on a budget and don't feel like shelling out to MS. Of course if you like tinkering with your computer, you can also install Windows (60,000 viruses and counting).
I already have an inkling who will flame this LOL

I'll have a look... I already use Openoffice 2.0 - it's free and better than MS Office IMHO.
