Yesterday (i think) he was saying about it being 60 years since Hitler opened the 1936 olympics..........nice maths. Easy mistake anyone could make I suppose but i expect theres a lot of other little slip ups

His crowning turd was during the 1982 World Cup in Spain, when he was commenting on a Brazil match:
". . . . and the ball is passed to Zico, a Bryan Robson-type player."
If there is no opportunity to bring England into his commentary, he'd probably retire.
A lot has been said about Scottish (and to a lesser extent Welsh and Irish) antipathy towards the English. Most of us have no gripe with the English team, or the fans. Our anger is mostly directed at the bloody media, and since Jimmy Hill vanished on to satellite telly Motson is the worst offender. Having said that, I wouldn't mind a few minutes with a baseball bat and John Inverdale's smug face either.
