Film Editing Help Please

Does anyone know how to edit the date from a film i shot this a while back and didnt realise at the time that i had the date running for about 2 mins of the film its also the wrong date/year, im using Roxio media creator 7 or windows movie maker i cant find anything in either of these to take it out, any help would be much appreciated thanks.

Thanks Brother Blue you have confirmed what i thought that as it is on the original tape then i cannot remove it i will just have to write some text over it, so any budding filmakers out there if you dont want the date featured in your film make sure its not showing when you are recording, i wouldnt have minded actually but the date thats showing is about 4 years before i shot the film,thanks again for your help.
