Just for 24 hours, how about a no-moaning rule? The endless Daily Mail theme (echoed by many sheep-like people across the Internet) seems to be "Isn't X worse than it used to be?"
And usually, it's not even true. So here's a thread to celebrate.
Crime is lower than it was a decade ago.
Football hooliganism is much less than it was in the 80s.
There are so many great new TV programmes to watch.
Enoch was wrong.
24 hour drinking didn't bring about the end of society.
Margaret Thatcher's bound to be dead soon.
Most young people I meet are polite and respectful.
Even the weather's warming up.
So be happy people, and don't believe everything you read in the tabloids.
!cool!

Is there less crime or just less reported crime? Remember how creative this Government can get with the figures....family of four granted asylum counts as one asylum application, family of four denied asylum counts as four deportations. Little things like that....
From a personal point of view, I felt a lot safer a decade ago than I do now.
As for television, you're having a fucking laugh...too much celebrity/reality toss shows. Contrast this with the 60's/70's shows that still have cult audiences today...The Avengers, Man From UNCLE, The Prisoner, Star Trek, Starsky and Hutch and don't get me started on the Gerry Anderson stuff as well! Also, there are FAR too many remakes being churned out at the cinema as well...and piss poor ones at that!
I'm sorry, but some moans are completely justified...if no one ever complained, nothing would ever get improved. That's why you're not running a site called 'Strictly Dial-Up' or 'Strictly Narrowband', Jerry!

You see - the Internet's MUCH better than it was 10 years ago.
(We're thinking of launching StrictlyBetamax next BTW).
