Indeed it should Steve. Small problem with the English language is that using a letter after a symbol/s tends to look cramped and misplaced and its just too darn tempting not to break them up with an apostrophe 
I wasn't really having a dig at the over-use on the forum, its nice to see people talking however incorrect. It's just that i noticed that day there were a lot of !! flying around
For sarcasm I tend to stick to this (!)...Wonderful isn't it(?)
