I'm assuming the sky+ box's ability to record one channel whilst watching another means it has two tuners built in. Is it possible to use the recorder tuner to feed a different screen without using any of the recording functions?
I'm just trying to work out how to keep my dual feed (same channel) set-up if/when I buy a HD ready screen.
I'll buy a freeview box if necassary.

I am not able to answer your question about a second screen but the Sky+ system does have two tuners. It is possible to record one programme and watch another or record two programmes at the same time and watch one of those programmes live. I understand you can record a programme and watch a previously recorded programme simultaneosly although I've never done this.

Best place to find the answer is probably here:
There's a good forum search engine, and if that doesn't bring you an answer, you can always post a question! !happy!
