Re: Unidentified black aircraft over London
I was at Farnborough last Wednesday. There were plenty of drones around - some black, some grey. Strangely, because they are pilotless, they are not allowed to fly in the London TMA (Terminal Manoeuvering Area) due to the high number of piloted passenger aircraft that abound in the London skies, so they were flown in by cargo aircraft.
Now that doesn't help you I know but I think I can help. What you describe - silent black "aircraft" with sharp, pointed, noses flying at very low level are known to most of us as CROWS.
These are not aircraft but BIRDS and are very common and often overlooked by people with little to do but come up with idiot conspiracy and cover up theories.
God knows there areenough nutters around (Bush, Blair etc.) and people like you only help them by promoting scare stories.

Mysteryman,
You do not think that freedom of speech is important and that is why you are frightened of it. I saw these aircraft plainly and so did my children and partner. There are naive people around like you who do not believe anything unless they see it on television!
Mike Freeman.

Eroticartist:
1. I have been around aviation for 50 years and worked with civil, military and government aviation organisations for many years to the highest level in the UK and internationally.
2. I am fully aware of current Air Traffic Control procedures and restrictions in the London TMA and how exceptions are granted.
3. I am in daily touch with both professionals in aviation and enthusiast aviation groups and with people employed at the various ATC centres controlling UK airspace. Nothing unusual has been reported to coincide with your sighting. Believe me, if it had, the enthusiast groups would certainly have been on to it and it would have been all over the Net by now.
4. Many people who report aerial phenomena have little knowledge or experience of estimating height, distance, speed or of describing the shape of what they observe.
5. Far from being naive, I am fully aware that so called "black programmes" do exist, that governments cover up and obfuscate miltary programmes. I am also fully in favour of free speech, open government and have campaigned for years at the political level for this. I believe little of what I see and hear presented as "news" by the populist media and prefer to draw my conclusions from many years of experience working and living around the world.
I don't know what you saw but sensationalising something you cannot properly describe and were probably mistaken about helps no-one defeat the climate of fear that Bush, Blair and their supporters are determined we should live under so they can push their agendas to the detriment of the majority.

Hi,Mysteryman,
I accept what you say but conversely stick by what I say. Perhaps you could use your considerable expertise to to identify these mysterious aircraft?
I assure you that I just want an explanation.
Mike Freeman.

Re: Unidentified black aircraft over London
Fair enough. I've read what you have described but, in aircraft recognition terms, you are being vague.
If you could identify the location, direction of travel, approx distance from your position, how close to you were the nearest buildings and where were the aircraft in relation to the buildings in terms of height.
Then please describe again the shape of the aircraft and were you full side on, three quarter view or underneath at any stage.
Are you sure they were jets or could they have been props which, from a distance, can be silent under certain conditions.
Be aware that light aircraft are permitted to fly under special visual flight rules, clear of cloud and in sight of the surface, within the London TMA, especially around Biggin Hill, Redhill, Fairoaks, Leavesden, Panshanger, Elstree, Southend, Stansted, Luton and North Weald.
Routings are conducted above 1000 feet but not above a given level, normally 1500 feet. Aircraft at this sort of level, at a distance, can seem exceedingly low. Also, in the bright conditions of recent weeks, aircraft which are not basically white can look very dark when low down idf seen against, or at certain angles to the sun.
