Cannabis gives one a different perspective on life. Working all the time becomes less important than the quality of life. This why most politicians are scared of cannabis. They imagine people smoking it all day and not working and consuming . Also smokers tend talk to together and discuss neighbourhood problems.

Thatcher commissioneed a study as to why Jamaica was the most anarchic country in the world. The conclusion was that smoking cannabis lead to the "campfire syndrome" which was sitting around a campfire having discussions.

Hmmmm, I think having a Campfire Society would actually BENEFIT the whole community, interactivity tween people, more "openess" towards each other, & a relaxed way to mingle & interact. There are too many communities in this country where every1 hides indoors cause they are too scared to go an talk to their neighbours, just incase they dont like them.

I'm not a "Drug head", I haven't had any "dope" in nearly 6 yrs, but I do agree with certain aspects of the "Dopers" views & way of life.

Yes, this needs to be addressed correctly.

I dont agree, that in itself smacks of "Big Brother/Nanny State"!

I do agree that "Smackheads" or those on DANGEROUS grugs or those who are habitually drunken or drugged up on "hard drugs" & violent SHOULD be monitored, but NOT ALL users.

Maybe thats true Mike............but alcohol has the same affect when used sensibly & socially. Many of the biggest decisions ever have been discussed over a pint & a pub meal!

Like I said, it's the people that abuse it that gives things like cannabis, cocaine, heroin, alcohol, religion....and even, sugar, a bad name. The problem is, how can we decide who's trusted to use these things sensibly, without abusing them?

I think alcohol is tolorated more in our society due to familiarity and because it's part of western culture more than cannabis & cocaine. It's the reason why Oriental peoples livers, cannot break down alcohol as fast as European livers. It's not been part of their culture till this century. Since you're 'pro' drugs, it's obvious you're going to feel unfairly treated due to alcohol being legal, yet cannabis being illegal, but you're fighting against a culture more than the actual laws themselves. Cultures change, but ever so slowly Mike.
