Perhaps the techies can comment on the following warnings posted by the same person on a newsgroup recently?

"As this post is in WMV format is is not safe to download.
WMV files contain the ability to carry code that executes when the file
is opened.
This makes all firewalls pointless and any WMV file could do anything at
all to your computer
Anyone posting WMV files is supsect of either subterfuge or ignorance.
WMV files also dont work on DVDs which is where most people want to keep
tham -so why make them that way in the first place?
WHy use WMV ?
The only reason is to transport trojan software for hacking purposes.
ONLY an idiot downloads WMV files."
