I was filming at the Stop The War March in London last Saturday Aug 5th where over 100,000 people were estimated to have taken part this was a very big march considering that it was only organisied just a week before, apparently the end of the march still hadnt left Hyde Park when the front had already arrived at Parliament Square and it took the long route via the U.S. Embassy, there were people fom all religions and race taking part and only about 4-5 arrest , i followed the march all the way and managed to get to the front at the end and got some great film of the speakers which included Tony Benn ,Dianne Abbot and other Left Wing labour MPs and they were saying some very unsavioury things about their leader who was just around the corner in Downing Street after having to postpone his holiday for a couple of days because of the War, Poor old Tone what a shame!sad!

Yes, 100,000 is a good number for a last-minute event. It may be that the million-plus who marched against invading Iraq will reappear on the streets in the coming weeks.
Last night I saw an interview with the king of Jordan, who is one of the most pro-American leaders in the Middle East. He believes we are on the edge of a precipice into all-out war in the Middle East, and implied that this has become American policy. America talks about a "New Middle East". In reality, this means unleashing a region-wide war to destroy the region and then allow America to step in and rebuild in its own image, just as it did in Western Europe after WWII.

This appears to be the US foreign policy from now on..its called The New American Century- and appears to involve building up the world in America's image. Bankrolled by big business so that the world turns into a corporate state like something from RoboCop...

Well judging by the situation in Afghanistan and Iraq the USA will have one hell of a job. But I suppose Dubya thinks he's got God on his side.

I didn't find it interesting - more depressing really. It appears to be yet another anti Semitic, anti Israel publication, run by leftwing loonies, where only one side of the issue is aired and where facts are skewed or taken out of context to cement the Israel/Jew hating view.

Something i found slightly amusing but reassuring at the march last Saturday was that as the marchers were assembling at Speakers Corner a Jewish guy was going around selling whistles for a pound each, and he was doing a good trade amongst the marchers who were predominantly Moslems but made up of all races and religions, and i know that a lot of the people there found out about the march from the Stop The War website, which means Officer Dibbles post dosnt quite add up, but of course he is entitled to his views!sad!

I dont see why considering Israel's actions to be over the top, in destroying the infrastructure of a neighbouring country, in retaliation for what are in comparison pin-pricks (albeit ones that cause unacceptable deaths) makes me a Jew hater.

"Doesn?t add up"?
What doesn't add up? My comments were aimed at the 'Stop The War' website, which you highlighted - not the demonstration. So, in that context, and presumably having perused the website, don't you think it?s a rather anti-Israel, anti-Semitic, sort of website that?s probably run by privileged, but pretentious, middleclass folks with too much time on their hands?
