Walking past the old Town Hall the other day I saw a small group of middleclass people (including a couple of soft twats wearing ?Che Guevara berets?), interspersed with the odd bearded Islamist, having an impromptu ?Stop The War? party. In fact it looked like they were indulging in a group hand wringing session, proclaiming solidarity and empathy for the oppressed of Lebanon and their friendly social welfare organisation, Hezbollah.
It was then that I noticed a coterie of chav lads off to the side who were deriving great amusement from baiting the earnest middleclass folk. ?Bog off, beardies!? ?Leave it out, yer fuckin? lentil lovers!? ?Take a hike, Trotsky!? ?Get some counselling, yer wankers!? These oaths were then followed up by a volley of hot dogs and Mr Softie ice creams. Who said chavs were daft?

Er, "everybody"? What are you talking about? You've lost me. I was simply relating an amusing little anecdote.

Re: Demonstration
That may well be the case, Keith. But it seems they do know a pretentious middleclass person when they see one at an 'anti-something' demonstration. So, there is hope for 'em yet, I feel.

"You are not observing a conscious reation to stimuli just a conditioned one."
Oh, I don't know. I don't really think they did it because Chairman Murdoch put them up to it. I think they were just irritated by the protesters, probably thought they were knobheads. Shit, I felt like joining in myself!
