Rarely a day goes by where more news is not splashed on our screen about religions fanatacism in some of the Islamic countries - countless news stories fill our papers about their wayward beliefs and dedication to destroy our civilised way of life (this, is also questionable I know).
All the while, little or no attention is paid to religious zealouts in America who, as we speak are:
Succesfully campaigning for creationism to be given equal footing with Darwinism in schools as viable theory
Succesfully campaigning against abortion through Pro-life groups, effectively outlawing it in some areas through threats of violence and repercussion.
Started sending modern day disciples around the world to spread its pro-life message/anti abortion
Are we blind to America's behaviour? The stories of the east fill our newspapers with horror and condemnation whilst the behaviour of the west slips neatly under our radar. We consistently repeat our disgust of nations who use religion to guide their politics whilst bizarrely remaining quite friendly with the worst perpertrator of all.
Who should worry us more? Both east and west have immeasurable influence on world politics - or should we just let em fight it out.
Who should worry us more?
Who should worry us more?

Re: Who should worry us more?
Because they speak English (sort of) and are mainly of white European stock, we tend to think of America as not greatly different to us. But the fact that the religious right has ensured a complete moron has been president of the US for the last six years should be reason enough to worry.
Bush, and many of those who advise him, see the war on terror in terms of a crusade----literally. The word keeps cropping up with no hint of embarrassment.
The Bush fortune is tied up with oil. In the 1970s, when GWB was a young, drunk, stupid man, America was given a wake-up call when the Arab countries flexed their economic muscle via oil prices. Petrol prices are very high here, because the Treasury takes a whack in duty. In America it's dirt cheap, which is why so many of them are willing to ignore the climatic concerns and continue to buy gas-guzzling monsters.
It was stated by Blair's man in Washington at the time that, after 9/11, Bush wanted to invade Iraq, which had nothing to do with the attacks. Once he was persuaded that Afghanistan was the place, he took advantage of that situation by building a massive oil pipeline. Then he wanted Iraq (more specifically its oil).
If the religious right can keep that clown in power, they will want their own man in next time too. Another right-wing, anti-choice, anti-science, war-mongering dipshit. Already the WASPs are pushing their children into position for generations ahead.
If we can accuse Arab leaders of brainwashing their young, why can't we make the same connection with the US?

I had a look at rr-bb.com Just look how many posting their forum has. Truely frightening when you realise there are powerful people in the US administation who really believe that Armegeddon is just round the corner. So anything they can do to help, they will do.

Right On! They've been brainwashing the whole US for decades! It's why some people can't stand poli-tricksters!
