The various incarnations Geoff Cramond's F1GP (Microprose, most of mine were on Atari ST though I had the last version running on a PC)
F15 Strike Eagle (again Microprose, running on an Atari ST)
F14: Fleet Defender (and again Microprose, this time running on a PC)
Football Manager 2005 then 2006 (and before that Championship Manager)
The hardest game I ever played was on a Sinclair ZX80/ZX81... it was a simulation of a moon landing. Using that crappy "keyboard" you had to type in the thrust rate etc to make a safe landing whilst retaining enough fuel to take off again. Of course your descent rate was always such that by the time you had typed in any changes you had already crashed and died!

Re: Best Computer Game.
It's hard to compare old games to the new stuff.
From my childhood it would have to be Galaxian, or River Raid. (Atari)
From the last decade I'd say the first Gran Turismo (Playstation) gave me the most ours of enjoyment.
This last 2 years I've mainly played HL2 + HL2E1, Far Cry, and Battlefield 2 online. (all PC).
Really looking forward to 'Crysis' which should be out around xmas. Check out this screenshot of the game. (actual 'in game' screenshot!)

When I have the time and am in a game mind-set
definately
Nascar Thunder 2004 (PC) awesome racing experience!
and occasionally
Red Ace (PC) fun arcade
Superbike World Championship (PC)
decent simulation but would be better if I could find the right joystick for it.

Re: Best Computer Game.
Maybe its my generation, but these PS2 and X-Box are all well and good, the graphics are amazing, but I'm strictly old school with computer games and I invested a fantastic ?21.99 on one of those gizmos you plug into yer TV and it has 25 arcade games from 'back-in-the-day' that include Asteroids, Space Invaders, Pac-Man (a personal favourite) and Glaxian to name but 4. Users of modern games will scoff at these antiquated games, but old codgers like me appreciate the simplicity of them
The West London of my youth is now on dvd

The classics, I love Zeldas, and the original Final Fantasy games 1-6. You got to love Pac man and space invaders they were teh first games I ever played as a kid.
Modern day games from the mid 90s onward
Alundra
Grandia
Broken Sword 1&2
Final Fantasy 7-10
Dragon Quest VIII
Oblivion and Morrowind
Manhunt
Splinter cell 1-3
Golden Eye 64
Resident Evil 4
Devil May Cry 1 & 3 the 2nd was shite
God Of War
Rainbow Six series
Tales Of Symphonia
Tales Of Eternia
I'm sure theres more that I can't quite think of the games i'm looking out for are Gears Of War for the 360 which is looking like its going to be game of the year, and Final Fantasy 12.
