A while back Jacques posted the message below, having set up a FREE TO JOIN football fantasy league.

So far 9 of us have joined. I can't for one minute believe that we are the only football fans on this forum.

No prize (other than bragging rights)... it's all done just for a laugh... so don't tarry... sign up now... it's FREEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone interested in a BGAFD Fantasy Football League?

If you are go here and set up your team.

Once done go to your menu and click leagues. Enter the code 350960-59197 in the box and click 'join private league'.

Gameweek 1 is 19th August. No new teams will be accepted after midnight on 18th August.

May the best team win (as long as it's mine)

I have to agree with Bob, bit disappointing to see so few teams, registration will close sometime today so if you want in, be quick.

Well provisionally the Shefield s10 team with a total of 45 points tops the BGAFD League with WGBA FD at the bottom with 12 points. The Relegation Beckons team may well just live up to it's name !drink!

We also have two new teams who will be elegible to play from Gameweek 2

!tut! !tut! !tut!

But there are still two games to go today!!!

With Schevchenko and Terry in my team I'm hoping to add a few points to those gleaned yesterday.

BTW, where are the "rules" hidden? I've looked but been unable to find them... I notice, for instance, that the choice of captain is important, as whoever is your captain gets double points. But I only realised that by looking at yesterday's points tallies.

For example, yesterday Scott Parker got me 10 points for his goal and overall performance. Anyone who chose him as captain, however, would have received 20 points.

Lucas Neil, by contrast, got -2 points for getting sent off. Had he been your captain you no doubt would have got -4 points.

Thanks!

I vaguely remember seeing them when I first signed up, but couldn't see any link on my normal "playing" page.

If you read the stuff about Actim stats it explains how points are decided. Even though Brad Friedel conceded 3 goals, he made several other saves, including a penalty, which scored him 9 points overall. It also means that if you choose a decent player in an otherwise crap side, his good performances won't be adversely affected by the dross around him. !happy!
