GDiplus error

Post by Genie »

Tried recording a DVD on Sonic, and I keep on getting this error :

pperating system error:Gdiplus::Status = 0x80040207 -13

I have tried a Microsoft fix, but it does not work.

Any ideas?

Turn off your anti-virus. It is possible that it is detecting Sonic's version of gdiplus as a threat.

It's well known that there is a jpeg exploit with gdiplus.

Thanks - though I have now tried this, it hasn't worked, sadly.

Run Windows Update and make sure you have installed all Critical (High Priority) updates. Specifically, make sure that you have installed the update labeled "Microsoft GDI+ Detection Tool (KB873374)". This will update the GDIPlus.DLL file in the C:\Windows\System32 directory, which is the location that Sonic products check in Windows XP.

You can replace Sonics GDIPlus.DLL file with the updated version and this will have no other effect on the behavior of Sonic products or your overall system security.

Oh dear. Tried all this, cannot find a GDIplus file in Sonic. Still fails.

Maybe it's better just to get away from Sonic?

- any good, non costly alternatives to Sonic?

any helpful comments? appreciated...

If I cannot solve the GDiplus error on Sonic, I'll need to find another DVD burning facility, there must be one non costly one that works well someone can recommend.

thanks for any help
