Scared Britannia

Post by strictlybroadband »

Two young men were removed from a Monarch flight from Malaga to Manchester at the request of the other passengers, because they were Asian.

Has Britain become a nation of pussies? Or was it always?

This is a strange one. If the two individuals were removed from the flight simply because they were Asian, the airline appear to have acted unlawfully. I don't think this is the end of the matter.

According to Newsnight last night and BBC breakfast this morning, that's all it was. Some idiot Brits got scared of these two Asian blokes and complained to the captain. These were two ordinary young British guys. Except they were Asian.

I should think the guys have a good compensation claim coming. But the fact that it happened at all is scary. Blair's being trying to scare us for years, and it seems to be working - at least among white Mancunians.

According to the reports I heard, their "behaviour gave cause for concern" (whetever that meant).

I suppose that in the current climate, if a couple of angry-looking young Asian blokes board your flight and start acting all shifty and nervous, some people are going to get a bit concerned.

I'm not saying that's "right" - but it's inevitably going to happen.

But if you're just some young Asian geezer minding your own business, then of course it stinks and you're right to feel aggrieved.

"But the fact that it happened at all is scary."

Not quite as scary as the thought of being blown up by chemical cocktail mixing Islamists over the Atlantic, I would venture.

Listened to one of the passengers interviewed on the Jeremy Vine show who said the 2 started staring at passengers before they boarded and when they got on the plane they slowly walked up the gangway staring hard at everyone as they passed. They got to their seats and started bending down as if searching for something under the seat and generally acting in a suspicious manner. They appeared to be trying to intimidate the passengers and make them think they were terrorists which had the desired effect as some passengers did not want to fly with them and as such the captain decided to turf them off.

Should be said that there were other Asians on the flight who were acting normally and no-one had a problem with them and yes if they were terrorists they would not be acting strange etc etc. Report that they continued to act the same way on the flight they were eventually put on so they were too thick to learn to act like adults.

As with the passenger after 9/11 who when asked what was in their luggage they said "a bomb" and was hustled away, these 2 acted like twats and were turfed off. An Asian human rights lawyer was then interviewed who said everyone should be sued and this was just racial profiling, then one of their fathers was interviewed who said more of the same.

It was the fault of the 2 twats who went out of their way to scare other passengers, so do away with the notion that 2 innocent men were turfed off because they were Asian. Good old BBC, at the end of the Jeremy Vine show on the news, they stated that concern was being shown for 2 Asian men ejected from a flight because they were talking in a foreign language! very impartial.

Racial profiling is here so get used to it, if the majority of muggings in London are carried out by young black men, they will be stopped more often than middle aged blondes, if the majority of terrorist attacks are carried out in the name of Muslims, people of an Asian appearance will be stopped more often and if the Klu Klux Klan started bombing over here it would be white people stopped, not racist just common sense.

Agreed.

Living in a large asian community myself, I'd guess these two asian lads were acting up. They were probably 'wanting' to look suspicious so they could scare the other passengers and have a good laugh about it later over some weed, and a few pills.

I used to spend a lot of time criticizing Islam on here in the noughties - but things are much better now.

Maybe it "smaked of" it to you because of your own biases and inherent suspicions, Keith.

But just because a couple of Asians get picked out for a customs check, that doesn't automatically make the customs officers concerned "racist".

Or are you saying that - ahem - "people of colour" are beyond reproach and shouldn't be picked out under ANY circumstances? Or that even if they ARE acting suspicious, they should be left alone "in the interests of fair play and race relations"?

Truth is you don't KNOW why they were picked out. Seems to me that you're just ASSUMING that it was "because they were Asian". Customs people are trained to look for things that people like you or I don't spot as we saunter merrily through the customs hall without a care in the world.

It's like when black youths in south London moan about only being stopped and searched "because we're black".

The fact that most knife-point muggings in that area are (for whatever reason) committed by young black males seemingly doesn't enter into it. No - the police force must be full of racists!!

And the criminal element among the ethnic minorities have long since cottoned onto this namby-pamby Political Correctness and use it to their advantage.

So you're black or Asian and have just had your collar felt by the Old Bill? No problem! Just get your brief to shout "RACISM".

It stinks.
