Hello,
Can anyone shed some light on this problem.
My PC is a Pentium 4 running Windows 98SE.
The graphics card is a GForce / nVidia
(Good reasons why not updated to XP).
A couple of months ago I reloaded from scratch after hassles.
All well for a few weeks except sometimes freezing when left so screen turned into power saving mode.
Now perhaps one time in three on booting it comes up
Windows Protection Error.
Hence I have to reboot into safe mode, remove display driver from devices and reboot.
The driver is fairly recent download and version I had used for the last few months with no problems.
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks.

Thanks.
It has been been OK last couple of days, but I have not been using video / DVD programs so maybe one of them is the culprit - time will tell.
Also I have reload Shutdown Delay update that allows 2 sec delay for drives to write contents of cache to the drive in case that was the problem.
