Watched a few of these a while back. Harmless enough casual evening viewing with its fair share of padding to show off the location: B. walks to car, B. drives car, B. gets out of car, and so forth. You know the drill.

What I didn't understand about Bergarac was that every week he would investigate a crime, and somewhere along the line Charlie Hungerford was involved.

If they had just deported Charlie off the island the crime rate would have dropped by 90%.
