One problem most of us have is that when we download or look at porn on our PC it is also there if anyone else uses our computer. That includes family, friends, or PC World when they try to fix it (Gary Glitter !).
This is because each file (be it picture, movie, or even our browsing history) is held as individual files on our PC.
One way to get round this is to use a product called Virtual PC that is free from Microsoft.
I will explain it in more detail in my next append, but basically after you install Virtual PC you can then install another operating system WITHIN Virtual PC that runs under your current operating system.
Bit hard to explain, but here is a picture that shows Windows 98 and Windows NT running under Windows XP in Virtual PC.

Hiding your porno on your PC
Re: Hiding your porno on your PC
This explains a bit about using Virtual PC from Microsoft (which is free)
Say you run Windows XP as your main operating system.
First you install Virtual PC on Windows XP.
As its name implies, this sets up a virtual environment of another PC which is running within your Windows XP. It can use all the hardware like disks, DVD Drive, keyboard, mouse etc.
You then install another operating system (Windows 2000 say) WITHIN this Virtual PC so this Virtual PC runs as a program under Windows XP.
The Virtual Windows 2000 PC appears as a window on your Windows XP desktop (see picture on my first append).
You could install Windows XP under this Virtual PC if you want (or Linux). You can have as many different operating systems under Virtual PC as you want.
The beauty of this is that the Virtual PC image is NOT held as individual files on your PC but held as one huge single file.
Unless someone logs on to this "Virtual PC" image then they will never see your porn or anything else inside it.
Note each of these Virtual PC images is password protected so even if someone else uses your PC they will not be able to log on to any of these Virtual PC images.
What is also good is that if you come to sell or give away the PC you just remove Virtual PC and the large single file and all reference to where you have visited has gone.
If you have to put the PC in for repair just backup the large single file to DVD, remove Virtual PC, and all evidence has gone.
You may need a fairly powerful PC to do all this, probably with a lot of memory, but most modern PCs should be able to cope.

But what if your PC locks up before you remove the Virtual PC and you have to take it in for repair?
Re: Hiding your porno on your PC
Just use Truecrypt and create a hidden volume for your porn with AES-256 bit encyption. PC World won't be looking in there and probably won't even realise that it's there in the first place. No password = no access and it's free.

And when finished surfing run CrapCleaner to leave no trace of your surfing.
Of course you could use a Live Linux CD or even use a USB pendrive and use Portable Firefox

And if you are really paranoid put OperaTor on a USB pen drive
