More Shining trivia: Joe Turkel who played Lloyd the barman was Tyrell of the Tyrell Corporation in Blade Runner which, as has already been pointed out, had aerial footage stitched on to its ending from the start of The Shining.

Joe Turkel was also in two of Kubrick's earlier films in the fifties - Paths of Glory and The Killing (masterful both). A gap of well over twenty years.
Philip Stone hit three in a row - Clockwork Orange, Barry Lyndon, then The Shining.
But none of this trivia matches the film itself. How many think Jack is writing a book or novel? All he actually says is 'outlining a writing project'. Trivial...or not?
