An example of just how safe things were for children 50 years ago.
The difference today is that much more of this stuff is reported. Back then, word of mouth was the way of keeping people safe.

Re: Sex Crimes and the Vatican
Keith,
I'd be interested to know what your experience with women raised as Catholics is/has been and how much you really know about Irish women.
I'll bet all the money I've ever earned that I've had relationships with and known (not necessarily in the biblical sense) more Catholic educated women than you and I've found very, very few to be frigid - more the opposite.
It would be interesting to know how many girls in the porn industry are Catholic educated. My educated guess is a good many.
I live in Ireland. There is as much casual sex here as in the UK and, in many ways, the younger women are more up for it than back home in the UK - many are more pushy sexually than the men - and this goes from ages 15-65 if the Irish media and local gossip is to be believed.
My wife works with a 50 year old Irish woman who had 20 sexual partners before being married at 25 - do the maths, that was in 1981 - and, from comments from other workers, she was not unusual. These women are all university graduates.
Seeing what goes on watching the school kids waiting for the school bus goes way beyond what I saw in the UK whilst waiting in bus queues 40 and more years ago or what my daughter's generation got up to in the UK 15-20 years ago.
By all means make statements to amplify your points but, please, base your statements on facts, one of which is that the Catholic Church now knows the term masturbation - it dropped the term self abuse years ago.

Re: Sex Crimes and the Vatican
"Most Catholic educated women are pretty frigid if you ask me."
How does that hang together with "Even if Catholic educated women act pretty much like nymphomaniacs (Spanish women are often like this) it is still a product of repression, same kind of fuck-up, different way of expressing it...."
As for Irish women, my first visit to Ireland was to work for a summer in 1963 - in Co. Clare, not the most "advanced" part of what was a repressed country under de Valera.
The first Saturday I went to a dance -I was 16. I'd been dating since I was 14, mainly Catholic girls, but not exclusively. The second girl I danced with was attractive but I was more so... I was English and she wanted to show her friends she could "have" the stranger. Our second dance was a slow dance, her tongue was down my throat in the first minute.
I went out with quite a few girls of Irish extraction in England and they weren't much different to other girls at the time.
In the 1960s repression was imposed by moral code/religion/lack of reliable contraception. Between 14 and getting married at 24 I can't count the number of relationships and friendships I had with Catholic and non-Catholic girls. The "limits" of how far you went with either were pretty similar and depended not so much on repression or freedom (this was the Swinging Sixties remember) but on how far the girl was convinced she could avoid pregnancy.
My observations and experience over 47 years since I was 14 seem to point to the fact that every girl is different and going back to schooldays, I met plenty of them who have never professed to have a religion who were far more reticent at 16 or 17 than the average girl at a Convent school of the same age.

Re: Sex Crimes and the Vatican
That's not my experience, Keith. Girls go through Catholic school facing a contradiction - they're told that sex is bad, yet their teenage hormones are sending them in exactly the opposite direction. When they discover sex, many of them are like a greyhound out of the trap. And of course, they know nothing about contraception...
My ex went to a very Irish Catholic school in North London, and several of her mates were pregnant before they hit 20. Some were subject to shotgun weddings, others ended up as single mums.
Over the years I've slept with a couple of Irish girls and I've never found much reticence about sex. Although there was one who'd give blowjobs but not let me shag her...

Re: Sex Crimes and the Vatican
I have been reading all the posts on this forum. All seem to agree that paedophile priests are evil. "Suffer little children to come unto me" Jesus said. They abuse the trust of the parents. What I would do is to take revenge personally.
However I remember one guy saying that "girls under sixteen" He was talking about fourteen year old girls, "shouldn't be fucking about."
Fourteen year old girls have been menstruating for years and can,and have children. Trying to treat them as children and saying you can't have the most beautiful and pleasurable thing in the world is patronising and insensitive. What are they suppose to do masturbate all day and if they are Catholics confess that they have abused themself to some paedophile priest? You make me laugh.
In a female intelligence manifests itself in the ability to be sexually attractive to chosen males. There is a lot of propaganda about beautiful and attractive young girls being bimbos but never forget Marilyn Monroe!
