Chinky - Racist/Offensive?

Whilst having some Chinese food delivered las night (I always, and everyone I know refers to it as the Chinky, or having a Chinky) when it was delivered, the driver (who was Chinese) called me "Bossman" now a man I maybe, but I've never held a managerial position, so I said cheers Chinkyman, smiled, and closed the door, he seemed ok about it.

Still the same though eh mate? I'm just interested as to why warren thinks it's offensive? Does he say he's going to the corner shop, and make a point of saying it? or like most going to the paki shop? I've know them at our local corner shop 20 years, there Indians, and they are great, kind people, but I don't know anyone (including myself) who dosen't say going to the "paki shop", incidently this word was also edited out of an episode of Only fools & horses, used in the same context, I guess this opens up all kinds of arguments, but saying your going to the Indians at 6am to get a paper?

I think at one time it probably was, now I'm not so sure. It's all down to personal subjectivity now and not moral objectivity, also the way that you said it probably counted for a lot.

It,s only offensive if the food was crap! I had a special fried rice from a Chinese takeaway near Sheffield and it was awful, not a fucking prawn in sight.... or have I missed the point?
