Puskas dies

Post by Ace »

Legendary isn't a word that comes close to describing this footballer who died today at 79. If he was in his prime today, you'd be looking at ?50m in transfer fees.
All you forumites who know your football will know what I'm on about here.

RIP

The West London of my youth is now on dvd

Especially as half the Premiership highly paid under-achieving players (Yes, my beloved Chelsea has its fair share) aren't fit to polish his boots.
I fully expect Real Madrid to honour him with the highest accolade. He 'made' them

You can add John Charles to that list.

Very True..........one of the few British players to crack Italy..........and there's been quite a few 'names' that flopped in Italy and Spain

very sad. surprised to hear on sky sports that he only received ?7000 from a match played last year to help him out financially, while Real Madrid took over ?800,000 from it in expenses and administration costs.

A GENIUS - clearly a place on the left side in the world's best ever XI for the Galloping Major. That goal when he left our Billy Wright on his backside was one of the greatest of all time!

Up there with Cryuff and Platini as the best player never to win the World Cup. A sad loss to football, regardless of nationality.
