New Beatles Album - A Crime

Post by Deano! »

I've heard a few bits of the 'new' Beatles album on the BBC World Service. What crap. The original should be protected like the Mona Lisa. Just fucking leave it alone.

Let It Be was their last released album and now that title has extra meaning to it.

It has astonishingly good ratings from all the newspapers. And Apple appear to have unfettered creative control- even if EMI have learnt the hard way that it produces more prfoduct and thus more cash.

I've also heard excellent reviews from certain radio stations & podcasts, though a few people have likened it to a Jive Bunny album!

I've not heard it myself, but looking forward to something different.

It sounds great to my ears - and I'm a massive long-time Beatles fan!

They're locking them up today, they're throwing away the key...I wonder who it be tomorrow, you or me?

Fair play to Dj Dangermouse for putting the idea into their heads with his Grey Album. It could just snare a new generation of fans and that keeps the music going.

I've learnt that fighting these new styles is pointless - you can embrace them or ignore them. It doesn't disrespect what came before and it doesn't replace the originals - so whats the real harm?

Actually, I must admit I'm not so against it now - having heard a few more tracks. Revolution is great. It sounds like they've just cleaned up the sound on that one.

The first one off it I heard was Lady Madonna and it's got so much extra crap woven into it now I was half expecting Snoop Dogg to chime in halfway through.
