How do I go about a shoot?

Post by Macks »

K, I have really been wanting to try shooting some footage of some of my favorite girls for some time, especially of the girls I can't seem to find decent stuff on.

As a complete noob to shooting my own videos can anyone offer any advice on getting started? I really need information on how to contact the girls - presumably through agencies? So that I can negotiate fees. How much would an average one girl solo shoot be to continental strength (dildo/vibrator use)??

I'd really like to book Laura Jones. Are the Adult Channel presenters on exclusive contracts? I heard of a local studio where I can hire space and equipment called L A studios i think.

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks chaps.

Girls usually charge between ?60 and ?100 for solo girl continental work (at the higher end if you want anal) and most will also require a 2 hour minimum booking. Studio costs are usually between ?15 and ?25 per hour but you may find some girls are willing to work from their homes as long as they have a chaperone there (don't worry he doesn't hang around watching!). I wouldn't reccomend LA Studios as Allan who runs it is a greedy bastard and if he charges you say ?90p/h for the studio and model, the model will be lucky to see half of that money.
Take care and good luck!

There are studios all over the country with models available for video work - buy a copy of practical photography or search for studio listings on the net - don't know where your based but there is almost certain to be a studio near you - we have about ten models on our books who will do solo and g/g work.

Hi

Yes, Chanta Rose has said it right.

You can see posts about LA on: http://www.photographyworld.co.uk/scripts/messages.pl

I would say if you are doing a vid shoot that a studio may not be mnuch use to you unless they are set up for vid work. Most have only camera lights.

If I was you I would think about the following:

(1) location - indoors or outside
(2) girls - how many, do you want well known or unknown
(3) script - sounds simple, but to make a porn vid interesting is not easy. Lets face it, who wants to watch the same girl, in the same position, masterbating for two hours, most people would be bored after 1 min.
(4) camera angle and position - get this wrong and the thing will look dull
(5) lighting - bad lighting will make a huge difference. I suspect (but not sure) that the likes of bend over et al, have lots of 'vidio' lighting in a room, thus very bright.

If I was dyou, dop a test shoot without the girl a few weeks before, then look at the film, see if you like the lighting and so on.

Rather than doing a shoot and regretting somthing, get the mistakes done before the shoot.

Write a checklist before the shoot so that you do not forget anything, ie, model release, lights, camera, spare bbattery, leads, spare tapes and so on.

I find that the girls partner likes to watch and the girls prefer this, I so I always ask them if they would like to watch.

You can find girls on a lot of sites (model message boards can be seen at www.6by7.com or www.uksweet.com/ukgirls.htm).

When you contact a girl, do not be shy, give her all the details, explain how long the shoot is, location, what you would like her to do, what your plan is for the film (ie for your use or to sell). Email her your mobile or telephone so if she prefers to call you she can.

But, plan the shoot first, at least write down a list of poses or positions, utherwise you will ber stood one hour, in the same postion, and you will have a dull film.

Good grief - I think the guy just wants to have a go at doing some video - not make a bloody feature film!!!!!!

I assume you would be paying the model for your 'test shoots'...

Our studio is fully equiped for still and video work - I think you will find that most are.

Also, just out of interest, we took our usual monthly quota of material to Red Hot TV today (ten tapes) all of which were shot using no artificial lighting at all.
