Can anyone explain to me why it is OK to make jokes and talk about cocks on TV and in mixed company but it is still taboo to talk or make jokes about erm...cunts. People feel uneasy even saying the word vagina never mind the word cunt. You can make a nob joke at work but if you make a cunt joke people will be shocked. Girls grow up using silly euphanisms for their vaginas such as fairy, foo-foo etc. Pussy is an americanism to try and come up with a nice word by comparing the genitals to a furry, cute animal.

I wonder if there may be some truth that society finds female genitals in some way less aceptable to talk about than mens. And if so why?
