Excellent presenter, wasted on TalkSport. Always spoke a lot of common sense and wasn't afraid to tell it like it was either.
A real loss to broadcasting

A huge shock- for me, he and Whaley were/are the station.

I disagreed with half of what he had to say, but I loved the way he put it....a perfect voice to chill out with on a Saturday night.

He will be very, very sadly missed.

Whaley is dedicating his show to him on Thursday night and turning it into a tribute, with his old radio mates and some archive- which may, of course, be as recent as loast Saturday.

My memories of him are from his time on LBC... grumpy old bugger, and I rarely agreed with his politics, but was thoroughly enjoyable to listen to.

There was a very nice tribute made to him on Clive Bull's show last night.

"But how to make Liverpool economically prosperous? If only there was some way for Liverpudlians to profit from going on and on about the past in a whiny voice."

Top bloke. I for one rarely disagreed with his views. He spoke a lot of sense to me.

I liked his 'bored' and 'tired of it all' voice when trying to voice reason. James Whale pretends he's as good as Dicken..............not even a close 5th in MY book
